Optimization of Aluminum Boride Synthesis in the Self-Propagating High-Temperature Synthesis Mode to Create Waste-Free Technology

This paper is the continuation of our previous paper. In this work, we optimized synthesis aluminum borides by SHS method. The purpose research was to develop foundations waste-free technology. initial components were powders boric anhydride (B2O3), (Al), oxide-heating additive (KNO3), various fluxing additives, including mixed ones. optimal ratios for increasing yield boride with a high boron content and obtaining slag suitable production high-alumina clinkers determined. Studies have shown that development technology producing method self-propagating high-temperature (SHS) possible yields target (alloy) by-product (slag) products meet requirements chemical phase composition.
